Dat blijkt uit de derde Volkskrant Top 200. De 59-jarige SER-voorzitter eindigde boven Bouwend Nederland-voorman Elco Brinkman en Philips-topman Gerard Kleisterlee. De hoogste vrouw is wederom FNV-voorzitter Agnes Jongerius. Ze steeg naar plek zes, waardoor er voor het eerst een vrouw in de toptien staat. Alexander Rinnooy Kan (ANP) Rinnooy Kan, snurkend lid van D66, is ondanks de kredietcrisis optimistisch over Nederland. Vorig jaar maakte hij zich nog grote zorgen over de leegloop van het politieke midden door het succes van de SP, TON en Geert Wilders. Daardoor werd het volgens hem moeilijk stabiel beleid te voeren. Maar door de kredietcrisis en de dreigende recessie doet het kabinet het voor het eerst sinds lang weer goed in de peilingen. Herkansing Het politieke midden krijgt zo een herkansing om alsnog vertrouwenwekkend leiderschap te tonen. Ook voor al die mensen die zich de afgelopen jaren niet gehoord, niet begrepen en niet bediend hebben gevoeld, zegt de SER-voorzitter in een gesprek met de Volkskrant. De politiek krijgt nu de kans die ernstige fout te herstellen. En ik moet zeggen dat de start hoopgevend is, als je ziet hoe de kredietcrisis wordt aangepakt. Ik heb goede hoop dat we door de crisis kunnen terugkeren naar het vertrouwde Nederland. Volgens Rinnooy Kan moet er versneld geïnvesteerd worden in vooral de kenniseconomie en in duurzaamheid. Dan kan Nederland beter en sterker uit de crisis komen. Na Jongerius is Marjan Oudeman, topbestuurder van het staalconcern Corus de hoogste vrouw, voor president-commissaris Annemiek Fentener van Vlissingen van het familiebedrijf SHV Holdings. Het aantal vrouwen in de Volkskrant Top 200 steeg van 29 naar 32, ofwel 16 procent. Agnes Jongerius pleitte eerder dit jaar naar Noors voorbeeld voor een wettelijk quotum waardoor vrouwen over vier jaar 40 procent van de topfuncties bekleden.
